Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico into a family of musicians. As a child, she was exposed to traditional music as well as old Boleros. She also listened to the traditional romance ballads as well as ranchero. Ana is a lover of tangos, opera, and all forms of dramatic performance. She began her singing and learning the piano with her mom, before beginning her vocal instruction when she was sixteen with world-renowned Mexican tenor Flavio Becerra. She furthered her training in music through the School of Music of Guadalajara University, and then the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. As a student and young professional, she performed in various chamber groups as well as opera choruses in Guadalajara as well as Mexico City. After 2000, she moved to the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Then, in 2007, she settled in her new home in Southern California. She sings as a soloist Latin American music for private celebrations and in the Ensemble XXI in Redlands. Passion and enthusiasm for arts, music and performing keeps her involved with a variety of local initiatives as a performer, teacher, and instructor. Ana has also been a former part of the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana is privileged to give others a taste of her enthusiasm for traditional Latin American music. She hopes this can inspire younger generations to keep this music alive.
